Apple unveils $1,999 iPhone Duo: its first foldable iPhone opens a new era for the lineup

September 10, 2026 · 09:05 GMT+3 Kyiv · 02:05 GMT-4 New York · Костянтин Любін

Apple has made the biggest change to the iPhone’s physical design since the smartphone debuted in 2007. At its September 9 event, the company unveiled the iPhone Duo, its first model with a flexible display and a body that folds in half. The device starts at $1,999, with retail sales beginning October 23.

When folded, the iPhone Duo functions as a compact smartphone with a 5.4-inch outer display. Opening the device reveals a 7.6-inch screen, the largest ever offered on an iPhone. Both panels use matching proportions, allowing the interface and content to scale without an abrupt change in layout.

“Legacy of the Voronoveli. The Shadow That Moves”: when even the hidden magical world turns out to be only the surface layer

In the first two books, the Voronoveli uncovered the hidden world step by step. First, Mark, Yegor and Danylo learned that magic existed. Then they discovered that ancient Houses lived alongside the human world, with their own laws, alliances, grudges and struggles for power.

In “ The Shadow That Moves ,” they learn something far more dangerous: even that world is only the surface.

“Legacy of the Voronoveli: The Rifts of Amon” — when old enemies become allies and feelings prove stronger than ancient laws

After the events of “The Fourteenth Fire,” the world of the Voronoveli can no longer return to its old order. The thirteen ancient fires are still burning, but beside them now stands one that no law ever anticipated. The Voronoveli are no longer merely a House debated in the halls of the Council. They have become a force capable of changing the entire system. Yet in the fifth book, the greatest threat no longer comes from political conflicts among the Great Houses. It comes from beyond the boundary between worlds.

“The Rifts of Amon” begins where the old rules stop working. Amon is no longer waiting for an accidental tear between realms. He has learned to find places where the boundary has already been disturbed — places that, in a sense, remember being broken — and use them again. What once looked like separate encounters with the Lower World begins to form a far more dangerous picture. A rift can return. It can be widened. And through it may come beings that make the Voronoveli’s previous enemies look like little more than a warning of what is still ahead.

This is where the fifth novel dramatically expands the scale of “Legacy of the Voronoveli.” Yesterday, the Houses were arguing about the Fourteenth Fire, voting rights, the Voronoveli’s influence, and the danger of their power. Some demanded restrictions. Others defended the old order. Some preferred to remain outside the conflict entirely. Now the rifts do not care who voted against whom.

When the danger becomes common, people who barely trusted each other yesterday are forced to stand together. The Saint-Clairs, the Kovenders, the Carveils, the Voronoveli’s old allies, and those who once considered their return a threat all face a choice more important than any political victory. In “The Rifts of Amon,” an alliance does not necessarily mean friendship. Sometimes it means only one thing: refusing to let an old grievance become the reason the world falls apart.

“Legacy of the Voronoveli. The Hunt Has Begun”: when the return of three brothers becomes a threat to the entire hidden world

September 5, 2026 · 19:20 GMT+3 Kyiv · 12:20 GMT-4 New York · Дмитро Швецов

In “First Midnight,” the Voronoveli discovered who they were. In the second book, they have to understand what it actually means to be Voronoveli in a world that has already noticed their return.

“ The Hunt Has Begun ” starts with almost no time to recover — on the morning after the death of Igor Grobontsov. Mark, Yegor and Danylo have remained at the ancestral House, survived their first night with their awakened power, lost their old understanding of reality, and consciously decided not to separate again.

But that decision makes everything that follows far more dangerous.

Now they can be seen.

The protection that concealed the three brothers for years is gone. The name Voronoveli begins to appear again in places where it had long been treated as part of the past, while the magical trace of three living heirs becomes visible to those who know what to look for.

From this point on, danger no longer has a single face.

It can arrive as a creature, an order, an ancient law, an offer of help — or as a black sheet bearing no crest, with a price already placed on the three Voronoveli brothers.
